Shane's Rib Shack - Clifton Park

Shane's Rib Shack
7 Southside Drive, Clifton Park, NY
02/28/2013 @ 5pm & 03/03/2013 @ 2pm

We wanted to try something new before going grocery shopping. Mommy wanted to add ribs to the shopping menu, which we did, but Daddy thought it sounded like a good idea for dinner as well. The website and name make Shane's sound like a nice sit-down casual dining restaurant. Its more fast casual than sit-down dining but still a nice unique place.

When you walk into Shane's it is designed to look like its namesake rib shack. You order at the counter from a variety of meat based meals, most of which come with a couple sides.  Unlike the Dickey's, the food is made in the back and brought out to your table. You can add any number of barbecue sauces yourself and they have a good selection of sides but nothing a health nut would love.

Daddy ordered the sample plate which has fried chicken tenders, ribs, another meat, bread and two sides and makes it a good choice for variety. Mommy ordered the grilled chicken tenders which weren't appetizing at all so they were sent back for the better tasting fried variety. They were very nice about any requests.  Daughter tried some of everything and Son had his usual. Shane's also makes great sweet tea, peach tea, and apple cobbler.

The next day we received a region coupon book we ordered a week before and inside was a coupon for Shane's. Few days later decided to go back. There aren't very many places where you can get ribs for around $10. The price is good but there weren't any leftovers either. Neither time we went was it crowded nor empty.

Overall we will go back again because it is a unique restaurant which servers good food.
